Grow Therapy introduces Compass Parenting to bridge the youth mental health gap
A stark perception gap separates parents and teens, with 91% of parents rating their child’s mental health as good while only 54% of youth agree. Amidst this disconnect, Grow Therapy is launching the Compass Parenting framework to help families move beyond digital gatekeeping toward more collaborative emotional support.

The initiative follows survey data revealing that 59% of teenagers keep mental health struggles to themselves, a figure far higher than the 24% of parents who suspect such silence. As technology complicates traditional oversight, clinical psychologist Dr. Jacinta Jimenez designed the Compass Parenting model to replace rigid screen-time enforcement with internal regulation and open dialogue. The framework is built on the GPS principle: Get Curious, Partner rather than police, and Seek to understand.
Professional intervention remains a critical component of this strategy, particularly given that half of all lifetime mental health conditions emerge by age 14. Peer-reviewed research involving nearly 10,000 patients aged 9 to 17 on the Grow platform indicates that clinical outcomes improve significantly when youth persist beyond their third therapy session. While demand for these services surged by 57% among Gen Alpha between 2024 and 2025, the company emphasizes that early intervention during the adolescent window is the most effective way to alter long-term health trajectories.
