Worth Wray Steps into COO Role at Phantom Space
Tucson-based Phantom Space has promoted Worth Wray to Chief Operating Officer, tasking the former strategy chief with accelerating the company’s launch vehicle production and commercial infrastructure rollout. Wray will now oversee day-to-day operations and capital management as the firm prepares to scale its Daytona rocket program and satellite data networks.

Wray’s transition from Chief Strategy Officer to COO marks a shift toward rigorous execution for the responsive space access provider. His new mandate focuses on refining operational tactics and cross-functional coordination, ensuring that the company maintains its pace while adhering to strict capital discipline. Key objectives for his tenure include increasing the launch cadence of the Daytona family of vehicles and managing the commercial launch of the Phantom Cloud and the company’s proprietary Space App Store.
CEO Jim Cantrell noted that Wray’s background in global macroeconomic analysis and deep-tech venture investing provides the necessary framework to bridge long-term vision with operational realities. With over 16 years of experience across public and private markets, including a tenure at Corriente Advisors, Wray is expected to stabilize the company’s growth trajectory as it moves toward high-volume production. For his part, Wray emphasized that the organization’s goal of democratizing access to low Earth orbit requires a robust operational foundation to support the upcoming expansion of its space-based commerce platforms.
