The Sports Geek Launches Third Annual AI-Powered Football Contest
Football fans are once again invited to test their predictive skills against an algorithm. The Sports Geek has opened registration for its third annual Beat the Geek contest, a free-to-play competition that pits human intuition against a specialized AI betting model throughout the 2026-27 NFL regular season.

Participants compete by making weekly picks against the spread, aiming to outperform the platform’s updated AI, known as The Geek. Those who finish a week with a higher score than the model earn entries into a grand prize draw for an all-expenses-paid 2027 NFL vacation package. Beyond the grand prize, the contest offers a $2,500 reward for the season-long leaderboard winner and weekly $500 payouts for top-performing contestants.
This year’s iteration introduces new incentives, including Early Bird and Referral draws, each featuring three $500 prizes. The platform has also upgraded its betting model, providing users with increased transparency regarding the logic behind the AI's selections. Registration opens August 31, 2026, with the first round of picks starting September 9. Entrants must be of legal gambling age in their respective regions to participate.
