Sopra Steria Secures Highest Responsible Digital Certification

This certification recognizes the company’s long-term strategy to embed sustainability into its core operations, employee workflows, and client-facing digital services. By aligning with the General Framework for the Eco-design of Digital Services, the group is tackling the environmental footprint of IT infrastructure, specifically targeting energy consumption and the premature obsolescence of hardware.

As artificial intelligence adoption surges, the firm is prioritizing responsible design to maintain competitiveness and digital sovereignty. The company has released two open-source tools—G4IT and sustain4ai—to help measure the environmental impact of information systems and AI models. With over 10,000 employees trained in eco-design principles by the end of 2025, Sopra Steria is now contributing to European standardization efforts for frugal AI via CEN-CENELEC, aiming to balance technical performance with sustainable outcomes.
