LuminoCity Dino Safari Returns to Freehold for Summer 2026

Under the glow of 70 life-sized prehistoric replicas, the LuminoCity Dino Safari transforms the Freehold Raceway Mall into a prehistoric landscape starting July 1. Running through August 16, the festival pairs traditional light-art displays with new interactive zones designed to draw families out for the Independence Day holiday week.

The 2026 iteration of the outdoor pop-up features an expanded footprint, introducing a 25-foot Volcano Bounce and a Neon Octo-Beats area complete with a glowing DJ booth. Beyond the static displays, visitors can observe the craft of lantern making firsthand through workshops led by Master Lantern Artisan Huang Xingxiu. These sessions highlight the Zigong artistry that serves as the foundation for the company’s immersive installations.

Founder and CEO Xiaoyi Chen noted that this year’s setup aims to provide a localized summer adventure, blending educational elements like the Safari Dig with high-energy attractions such as the Dino Speedway. The grounds at the corner of Raceway Mall Drive and Winners Circle remain ADA-compliant, with operations running nightly except Wednesdays, excluding the July 1 opening. Early bird ticket pricing remains open through June 30, with complimentary entry for children aged three and under.
