Bandai Unveils Strategy-Focused Naruto Trading Card Game
Masashi Kishimoto is bringing his ninja world back to the tabletop with a new trading card game set for a global rollout in 2027. Bandai announced the project today, confirming that the title will bypass traditional merchandise routes to focus specifically on the competitive strategy market.
The game will make its live debut at Gen Con 2026, held in Indianapolis from July 30 to August 2. Attendees will get the first look at gameplay mechanics through dedicated tutorial sessions, where Bandai plans to distribute commemorative gift sets including a promotional CP-001 Chakra card and branded gear. Registration for these sessions opens on June 21 through the Gen Con website, with additional demonstrations planned for international events following the convention.
Kishimoto, who launched the original manga series in 1999, expressed support for the expansion of his franchise, which has already surpassed 250 million copies in circulation. Bandai aims to leverage its existing global distribution network to reach fans across more than 50 regions. Further technical details, including specific card designs and the full project roadmap, are scheduled for release on July 29, one day before the convention begins. Fans can track development via the official TCG+ app or the game’s social media channels.
