Ajman Targets German Tourists in New Strategic Partnership
Mahmood Khaleel Alhashmi, Director General of the Ajman Department of Tourism, Culture and Media, hosted German Consul General Sybille Pfaff this week to map out a strategy for positioning the emirate as a premier destination for European travelers, focusing on cultural exchange and targeted tourism marketing initiatives.
The meeting, which included representatives from the German Cultural Attaché and the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce, centered on integrating Ajman into the German travel market. Officials reviewed promotional roadmaps designed to attract visitors by highlighting the emirate’s blend of authentic heritage and modern infrastructure. Alhashmi emphasized that the goal is to elevate Germany into one of the emirate's top five international source markets through data-driven campaigns and collaborative artistic events.
Consul General Pfaff noted that the deep economic and cultural ties between the UAE and Germany provide a solid foundation for this expansion. Beyond standard tourism, the discussions explored the role of digital creators in shaping perceptions among German audiences and the importance of cross-civilizational dialogue. As Ajman’s tourism sector experiences rapid growth, both parties committed to moving beyond high-level meetings toward actionable joint initiatives aimed at securing the emirate's long-term presence on the European tourism map.
