Thrive Holdings, an offshoot of the venture capital firm Thrive Capital Management, has carved a niche by acquiring established service businesses to integrate artificial intelligence into their existing workflows. By taking ADT private, the firm intends to leverage its capital and technical expertise to modernize a company that currently relies on a massive network of technicians and service contracts.

ADT maintains a significant market presence through strategic partnerships with major tech players, including installation services for Google Nest and Apple smart home hardware. CEO Jim DeVries noted that the acquisition provides the resources necessary to accelerate innovation and customer service expansion. The move signals a shift for the security firm as it moves away from public market scrutiny toward a model focused on AI-driven operational efficiency.
