OnePlus 16 Debuts in China with Massive Battery and 185Hz Display

With the OnePlus 16 launching exclusively in China today, the manufacturer has officially pivoted away from Western markets to focus on high-end hardware. The new flagship arrives as the company’s most ambitious release in years, packing a 9,000mAh battery and a display refresh rate that pushes beyond current industry standards.

The device centers on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset, supported by up to 1TB of storage and 16GB of RAM. Power management reaches a new threshold with a 9,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, complemented by 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The display hardware is equally aggressive, featuring a 185Hz OLED panel that allows for fluid system navigation and high-frame-rate gaming.

Camera performance sees a notable shift, moving to a 200-megapixel main sensor with an f/1.4 aperture to address previous limitations in low-light environments. The rear array is completed by 50-megapixel ultrawide and telephoto lenses. Beyond the internal specifications, the phone features a distinctive silver finish embedded with LED lighting that pulses in specific rhythms to signal notifications. The OnePlus 16 is currently available in China, with pricing starting at ¥5,699, or approximately $850.
