American Packaging Corporation Debuts Space-Saving FlexCube Pouch
American Packaging Corporation has unveiled the APC FlexCube, a preformed cuboid pouch engineered to optimize logistics and shelf space. By moving away from traditional flexible formats, the company aims to reduce excess headspace and material usage, offering a high-impact alternative for large-format consumer goods.

The new design functions as a direct competitor to rigid tubs, jars, and jugs, utilizing a geometric shape that stands stable on retail shelves. According to the company, the FlexCube can reduce material consumption by 30% to 40% compared to standard flexible packaging. Because the pouches ship flat before filling, manufacturers can achieve significant gains in distribution efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint associated with secondary packaging and transportation.
Seth Holmen, Vice President of Research and Development at APC, noted that the resource-efficient geometry serves dual purposes: providing a billboard-like surface for branding while minimizing the air-to-product ratio. The product line is compatible with the company’s RE Sustainable Packaging portfolio, which includes structures featuring post-consumer recycled content and designs tailored for recyclability. The manufacturer plans to showcase the technology during a hospitality event held in conjunction with PACK EXPO International 2026 on October 19 and 20.
