YFORE Launches Radar-Integrated In-Cabin Safety System
YFORE Technology inaugurated its new North American manufacturing hub in Suwanee, Georgia, by unveiling an integrated cabin monitoring system. The solution pairs smart-mirror cameras with roof-mounted radar to eliminate traditional blind spots, addressing common shortcomings in vision-only safety setups that often fail when occupants are obscured by seatbacks or blankets.

The system, known as ODMS, targets the limitations of existing automotive sensors by combining optical data with radio-frequency signals. While the smart mirror tracks driver fatigue and distraction from a fixed forward angle, the roof radar penetrates barriers to detect micro-movements in rear rows and footwells. This multimodal fusion allows the technology to track seven core functions, including occupant classification and life-presence detection, which are critical for meeting Euro NCAP five-star safety standards.
By consolidating optical components into the rearview mirror and utilizing a compact radar module, the company has reduced the need for complex headliner cutouts and wiring. This design choice simplifies the integration process for automotive OEMs across multiple vehicle platforms. As global safety regulations tighten, the move toward such consolidated architectures aims to provide automakers with a scalable method to ensure full-cabin coverage without compromising interior aesthetics.
