Drawing on his own background in software development, fuel distribution, and international logistics, Kain designed the grant to assist students who exhibit the resilience and resourcefulness necessary for sustainable growth. The award is open to any undergraduate currently enrolled at an accredited college or university in the United States, provided they demonstrate a clear ambition to scale a business.

Candidates must submit an original essay between 500 and 750 words detailing a specific challenge they have navigated or anticipate facing on their entrepreneurial path. The submission should articulate how the applicant plans to leverage hard work and integrity to transform such obstacles into viable opportunities. Applications, including the student's full name, institution, and program of study, must be sent to the official program email by the April 15, 2027, deadline. The recipient of the award will be announced on May 15, 2027.
