Akeso Reports Record Revenue as Global Bispecific Strategy Expands
Akeso, Inc. reported record-high drug sales of RMB 1,803.2 million for the first half of 2026, marking a 28.7% year-over-year increase. The Hong Kong-based biopharmaceutical firm is leveraging its IO2.0 global strategy to advance a pipeline of bispecific antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates across oncology and chronic disease sectors.
The company’s financial growth is underpinned by the inclusion of 12 indications across five self-commercialized drugs in China’s National Reimbursement Drug List. A significant catalyst for this momentum is the recent approval of ivonescimab for first-line treatment of advanced squamous non-small cell lung cancer, which provides a new trajectory for market expansion. As of August 2026, Akeso maintains a strong liquidity position, with cash and short-term financial assets totaling RMB 9,160.0 million.
Beyond commercial gains, the firm is aggressively scaling its clinical presence. The global IO2.0 strategy centers on ivonescimab and cadonilimab as cornerstone therapies. Recent data from the HARMONi-2 trial established a new performance benchmark in PD-L1-positive lung cancer, while the BLA for ivonescimab in EGFR-TKI-resistant settings remains under FDA review. Furthermore, Akeso is diversifying its portfolio by integrating its proprietary ADC technology with existing bispecific platforms. New candidates like the TROP2/Nectin-4 bispecific ADC AK146D1 have entered clinical trials, aiming to address safety limitations inherent in earlier ADC generations. The company is also expanding into immunology and CNS disorders, with AI-driven assets such as the IL-4R/ST2 antibody AK139 currently undergoing multiple Phase II studies.
