MWC26 Doha to Co-locate with ITU Plenipotentiary Conference
The GSMA and the International Telecommunication Union will merge their flagship events in November 2026, bringing together global policymakers and industry leaders in Doha. This first-of-its-kind co-location at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center aims to bridge the gap between digital governance and private sector innovation.
The MWC26 Doha exhibition is scheduled for November 8-10, 2026, immediately preceding the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference (PP-26), which runs from November 9-27. By placing the exhibition floor adjacent to the UN agency’s highest policy-making body, organizers intend to demonstrate how AI-powered solutions and infrastructure projects translate into economic growth. Qatar’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Communications Regulatory Authority will host the proceedings, aligning the gathering with the nation’s Digital Agenda 2030.
The GSMA Ministerial Programme remains the focal point for government engagement, aiming to replicate the attendance of 60 delegations from 49 countries seen during the 2025 debut. As the ITU Plenipotentiary Conference meets every four years to determine financial plans, elect officials, and set strategic direction for 194 member states, this proximity provides a rare environment for direct dialogue between regulators and the telecommunications industry. The collaboration focuses on streamlining global spectrum management and accelerating universal connectivity standards.
