The conference addresses the complex realities of an aging global population, where frailty and comorbidities complicate the management of movement disorders. David Burn, president of the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society, emphasized that while age remains a primary driver of disease progression, clinical understanding of the underlying biological complexity is only in its infancy. Discussions will span cellular senescence, genetic markers, and advancements in brain stimulation technology.

Central to the program is a keynote lecture by Tohru Minamino, who will present research on immuno-gerotherapeutics. His work targets senescent cells—cells that have stopped dividing and contribute to age-related decline—offering a potential shift in how medicine treats neurodegeneration. Beyond the keynote, the event will feature over 60 scientific sessions and the presentation of more than 2,000 novel research abstracts. These late-breaking studies aim to bridge the gap between laboratory breakthroughs and practical, life-altering patient therapies.
