Allstate Reports $682 Million in July Catastrophe Losses
Wind and hail storms across the United States drove significant financial impact for The Allstate Corporation last month. The insurer recorded $682 million in catastrophe losses for July, a figure that narrows to $539 million after tax, as the company grapples with a high volume of weather-related claims.

The Northbrook-based firm identified 23 separate catastrophe events throughout the month. Of these, two specific wind and hail incidents accounted for roughly 75% of the total monthly losses. These figures reflect the ongoing exposure of the insurer’s massive portfolio, which currently encompasses 216 million active policies covering homes, automobiles, and electronic devices.

Allstate continues to manage its risk profile through a diverse distribution network, including independent agents and direct online channels, though the company notes that actual financial results remain subject to future market uncertainties and underlying actuarial assumptions.
