A 165-tonne active heave compensated crane will be installed on the newbuild Ulstein SX121 vessel, commissioned by Jan De Nul. Jan De Nul opted for the proven lifting technology based on MacGregor’s established performance in previous offshore projects. The equipment is designed to offer high lifting capacity without the structural penalty of larger units, providing an efficiency edge throughout the vessel's service life. This order was officially booked into MacGregor’s second quarter 2026 intake.

Proximity to the shipyard remains a strategic priority for the build. MacGregor’s local production and engineering teams in China will provide hands-on support for installation and commissioning. This direct access is intended to help the CMHI yard maintain strict schedule discipline through the final handover. The contract also includes an option for a second vessel, further cementing the partnership between the supplier and the offshore construction sector.
