vertTV Launches Action-Romance Microseries Call of Duty and Love
A former covert operative is forced out of hiding to rescue a kidnapped teenager, only to discover the victim is his own daughter. Starring Jason-Shane Scott and Jessica Morris, the high-stakes microseries Call of Duty and Love premieres today on the vertTV mobile app, marking the platform's latest push into cinematic short-form content.
Directed by Peter Sullivan, the series follows Jackson "Six" Dane, a retired operative pulled back into the fray by trauma therapist Dr. Rachel Gilbert. The rescue mission quickly escalates when Jackson realizes the target, Harper, is his child, now hunted by a vengeful former colleague named Cade. Alongside ally Kira, the protagonists must navigate lethal traps and hidden military secrets to reach the girl before time expires.
This release signals a wider strategy for the Los Angeles-based platform, which aims to elevate mobile entertainment by utilizing traditional studio infrastructure and established Hollywood talent. Following the success of Lone Star Hearts, the company has locked in a slate of upcoming projects, including the Jodie Sweetin-led drama Finding Hope, the comedy Chonda, and a murder mystery featuring Vivica A. Fox.
