Little Leaf Farms Launches Massive Tennessee Greenhouse Facility
With the first seeds planted in Manchester, Little Leaf Farms has officially begun commissioning its 20-acre Tennessee greenhouse. The move marks a strategic acceleration for the company, which now ranks as the fourth-largest packaged salad brand in the United States, as it seeks to meet surging national demand for indoor-grown greens.
The Tennessee facility serves as the initial phase of an expansive 80-acre campus, representing a critical leap in the company's efforts to establish a full national footprint. By utilizing advanced hydroponic technology and automated systems, the site will produce leafy greens without human contact, pesticide application, or exposure to environmental contaminants. CEO Paul Sellew noted that the company pushed its timeline forward to address pressure from retailers seeking a stable, year-round supply chain.
This expansion arrives as the indoor-grown produce sector faces a period of market transition. Despite industry volatility, Little Leaf Farms is currently evaluating multiple new locations for future campuses. The Tennessee site joins existing operations in Devens, Massachusetts, and McAdoo, Pennsylvania, with an eighth greenhouse slated for an official opening later this year.
