Adobe Firefly updates aim for persistent AI design workflows
Adobe is rolling out a redesigned Firefly AI studio in private beta, introducing persistent context and reusable assets to bridge the gap between initial ideation and final production. The update shifts the platform toward a more collaborative model, allowing creators to maintain visual consistency across complex design projects.

The core of this overhaul is the introduction of Elements and Projects. Elements allows users to save specific characters, locations, and objects to a library, enabling the AI to recall and reuse these assets without requiring repetitive prompt descriptions. Projects serves as a centralized workspace, organizing generations and context to ensure workflows remain cohesive between sessions. These tools are intended to reduce the friction of switching between disparate applications during the creative process.
Beyond organizational updates, the Firefly assistant is gaining brand-focused capabilities. Users can now generate logos and color palettes based on company descriptions, while new video tools—including Quick Cut and automated storyboard generation—allow for faster assembly of short-form content. Forest Key, Adobe’s vice president of agentic AI, frames these tools as a co-working partner rather than a replacement for human input. While the assistant handles tedious tasks, manual adjustments remain possible within Creative Cloud apps, ensuring creators retain control over the final output.
