Buttner arrives at the firm following his tenure as Senior Vice President and Counsel for Asset Servicing at The Bank of New York Mellon. His expertise spans custody, fund accounting, and transfer agency services, alongside experience in supporting mergers and acquisitions. Beyond his transactional work, he brings a proven track record in defending financial institutions against both individual and class action lawsuits in state and federal courts.

Co-Managing Shareholders David Jay and David W. Oppenheim noted that Buttner’s blend of in-house and litigation experience provides a practical perspective on the commercial arrangements and regulatory challenges facing their clients today. A graduate of Seton Hall University School of Law, Buttner plans to integrate his background with the firm’s existing finance team, working alongside attorneys such as Nathan Iacovino to expand the firm’s footprint in the New York and New Jersey financial sectors.
