Church of Jesus Christ Delivers Food to All 50 States for America250

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has reached a nationwide milestone, completing food deliveries to all 50 U.S. states as part of the America250 anniversary commemoration. The initiative, which aims to provide 250 truckloads of provisions, highlights a collaborative effort to combat rising food insecurity across the country.

The campaign reached its latest mark on June 13 in Hilo, Hawaii, followed by a delivery of over 37,000 pounds of food to the Catholic Charities Boston Yawkey Center on June 17. These shipments are part of the broader "America Gives" initiative, which utilizes the Church’s extensive welfare infrastructure—including farms, canneries, and storehouses—to supply food banks from Alaska to Massachusetts. By the end of the year, the project expects to distribute millions of meals through 250 designated semi-truck deliveries.

Local leaders emphasize that the project transcends denominational lines, creating partnerships with organizations like the Council of Baptist Pastors of Detroit and the Hilo United Methodist Church. As food banks report demand increases of up to 30% in some regions, officials note that the logistics of the operation are secondary to the immediate goal of supporting vulnerable families. With half of the planned deliveries already completed, organizers intend to maintain the distribution schedule throughout the remainder of the 250th-anniversary year.
