Echo Global Logistics Launches Domestic Freight Services in Mexico

Shippers navigating the complex logistics landscape south of the border now have a single-source provider for domestic transit, as Chicago-based Echo Global Logistics expands its portfolio to include full intra-Mexico transportation, integrating city-to-city freight, port drayage, and intermodal corridors with its existing cross-border and customs brokerage operations.

The expansion marks a strategic shift for the firm, which has spent over a decade managing cross-border supply chains. By consolidating domestic Mexican distribution with its established EchoXBorder division, the company aims to resolve the fragmentation often found when coordinating separate providers for customs clearance, warehousing, and inland transport. Troy Ryley, President of Echo Mexico, noted that the move is designed to eliminate operational boundaries and provide consistent visibility for clients moving goods within the country.

Since 2024, the company has bolstered its regional footprint with offices in Mexico City and Monterrey, alongside its hub in Laredo, Texas. According to Ruben Gamboa, Director of Commercial Development for Mexico and the Southern Border, these investments provide local and international businesses with the same scalable infrastructure that Echo offers in the United States. The service suite now encompasses localized managed transportation, intended to reduce the friction typically associated with domestic logistics in the Mexican market.
