Aier Eye Hospital Secures 25 ZEISS VISUMAX 800 Lasers
A major expansion of refractive surgery capacity is underway as Aier Eye Hospital Group and ZEISS Medical Technology finalize a strategic agreement for 25 VISUMAX 800 femtosecond laser systems. The deal, signed June 12 in Changsha, signals a push to standardize high-precision surgical workflows across the hospital's global network.
The rollout begins later in 2026, targeting both domestic and international facilities. Beyond hardware procurement, the partnership focuses on integrating AI-assisted diagnostics and digital clinical management platforms. Martin Fischer, President and CEO of ZEISS Greater China, characterized the collaboration as a move toward deeper innovation in integrated digital workflows.
During the ceremony, ZEISS recognized Aier Eye Hospital with a "Top Three" honorary plaque, citing its global lead in equipment scale, clinical practice, and medical talent. Aier currently maintains the largest worldwide installed base of VISUMAX 800 systems and leads China in the total number of KLEx procedures performed with the SMILE pro platform. Li Li, Co-Founder and Global President of Aier Eye Hospital Group, stated that the acquisition aims to establish a new international benchmark for surgical efficiency and patient outcomes.
