Rochester Midland Expands Water Treatment Reach with ClarityChem Buy
Rochester Midland Corporation has acquired Depew-based ClarityChem, integrating a three-decade veteran of industrial water treatment into its regional service network. The deal, announced June 17, brings ClarityChem’s specialized expertise in boiler systems, wastewater management, and odor control under the umbrella of the 138-year-old Rochester-based specialty chemical provider.

ClarityChem—comprising ClarityChem Inc., Chemasters LLC, and Chematrix LLC—brings a robust portfolio of consultative and technical services to Rochester Midland’s existing platform. The firm focuses on commercial and institutional water systems, offering everything from full-scale design to product sourcing and program implementation. This expansion allows Rochester Midland to bolster its reach in municipal and industrial wastewater sectors across its North American and European footprint.
Jim White, CEO of Rochester Midland, framed the acquisition as a strategic alignment of customer-first values, noting that the company remains actively interested in partnerships that add differentiated capabilities to their technical service offerings. Owners Brian Seifert and David Janicki cited Rochester Midland’s extensive resources and established platform as the primary drivers for the transition, positioning the combined entity to better serve a diverse, blue-chip client base.
