Yujiro S. Hata Named Chairman of IDEAYA Biosciences

Terry Rosen, who co-founded the company with Hata over a decade ago, will transition into the role of Lead Independent Director. Rosen credited Hata’s leadership for guiding the firm from an early-stage scientific startup to its current position as a player in the precision medicine sector, focusing on synthetic lethality and antibody-drug conjugates.

In his expanded capacity, Hata will continue to oversee the company’s strategic efforts to develop targeted therapies for molecularly defined solid tumors. The board appointment comes as the company navigates the complexities of late-stage research and the logistical requirements of shifting toward commercialization.
