Adobe Launches IP-Safe AI Models for Hollywood Studios

Hollywood studios are gaining a custom alternative to public generative AI tools as Adobe debuts its Firefly Foundry. These new omni-models are designed to handle complex assets, including audio-aware video and 3D graphics, while ensuring full integration with existing workflows like Premiere. By shifting away from the broad, public-facing training methods used by competitors, Adobe positions its latest suite as a secure environment for studios to accelerate production from pre-visualization to final cuts without eroding creative ownership.

Adobe’s vice president of genAI new business ventures, Hannah Elsakr, noted that the initiative grew out of direct feedback from large-scale clients who required more control than standard models provided. While startups like Asteria have explored similar territory, Adobe is leveraging its decades-long dominance in creative software to convince industry leaders that their infrastructure is the most viable path for responsible AI adoption in professional entertainment.
