Shanghai Electric Outlines Blueprint for Industrial Zero-Carbon Parks
Under the banner of engineering optimal zero-carbon solutions, Shanghai Electric concluded its showcase at the 2026 Shanghai International Carbon Neutrality Expo. The company leveraged the event to present a full-chain industrial model, moving beyond individual components toward integrated, site-specific energy systems designed for long-term sustainability.

The company debuted its White Paper on Technical Measures for Zero-Carbon Park Planning and Construction, providing a roadmap for energy efficiency and resource circulation. By focusing on end-to-end services, the firm manages the entire lifecycle of industrial infrastructure—from initial site planning and clean energy supply to smart operations and maintenance.
Practical application of these systems is already underway in major demonstration hubs. The Zero-Carbon Bay project in Shanghai’s Lin-gang Special Area stands as a national benchmark, recognized as one of China’s first 52 designated zero-carbon parks. Similarly, a smart energy park in Shantou, Guangdong, has secured the province’s inaugural carbon neutrality certificate by integrating wind, solar, storage, and hydrogen technologies into a single management platform.
Beyond individual projects, Shanghai Electric continues to expand its environmental impact. The company reported a reduction of approximately 389 million tons of CO₂ equivalent throughout 2025, marking its second consecutive year of disclosed contribution data. This output reinforces the firm's broader ESG strategy, which prioritizes clean technology innovation and collaborative global partnerships as core pillars for the ongoing transition to carbon neutrality.
