VEVOR Tackles Houston Ice Shortages During Summer Sports Surge
As Houston braces for a wave of summer matchday crowds, local bars and backyard hosts face a recurring logistical hurdle: the mid-game ice shortage. VEVOR is attempting to solve this supply gap by launching a citywide activation that provides free, rapid-production ice to fans at its flagship store and partner venues.

Starting June 22, the brand is rolling out its “Free Ice for Game Nights” campaign, pairing live tournament broadcasts with on-site ice production. The initiative centers on the VEVOR Integrated Ice Maker, a $298.20 unit capable of churning out 120 pounds of ice daily. By deploying these machines at the VEVOR Houston flagship store and across 10 to 20 popular local bars, the company aims to demonstrate the machine's reliability under the high-pressure conditions typical of peak-hour sports viewing.
For local business owners and home hosts, the activation serves as a tangible stress test. According to Jalal, the VEVOR store manager, the goal is to prove that high-output, professional-grade performance is accessible without the traditional industrial price tag. Visitors to the flagship location can watch the machines produce their first batch of ice in 10 minutes while participating in interactive games. The campaign runs through July, offering attendees a chance to win equipment, effectively turning a common retail product demonstration into a central feature of the city’s summer sports entertainment landscape.
