XPENG Integrates Google Play Into AI Cockpits by 2027
Drivers of XPENG vehicles will gain direct access to the Google Play ecosystem starting in early 2027, marking a significant expansion of the automaker's partnership with Google. This integration allows users to download automotive-optimized apps directly to their dashboards, removing the necessity of connecting a smartphone for daily digital services.

The new functionality enables access to hundreds of apps spanning navigation, music, video streaming, and gaming, all tailored for the car screen. By leveraging Android Automotive OS, XPENG ensures that these applications integrate with its existing AI-powered cockpit, allowing passengers to control third-party software using the car's native multilingual voice assistant. Because developers manage updates through the store, the vehicle's digital interface will evolve independently of major firmware releases.
Dr. Xianming Liu, Vice President of XPENG, noted that the collaboration builds upon the successful integration of Google Maps’ Auto SDK introduced earlier in 2026. For Google, the move serves to broaden the reach of its in-car app ecosystem. While specific vehicle models and regional availability remain subject to safety requirements and testing, the company intends to treat this rollout as a foundational step toward deeper digital integration in future smart mobility projects.
