The red mesh jersey, worn during the Chicago Bulls' 93-88 victory over the Utah Jazz on June 5, 1998, represents a pivotal artifact from Jordan's final season with the team. During that contest, Jordan delivered a dominant 37-point performance, helping the Bulls rebound after an opening-game loss. The garment has been photomatched by both MeiGray and SIA Authentication and includes a 2003 letter of provenance from former Bulls Director of Community Relations Jeff Schultz, who described the piece as one of the finest examples of game-worn equipment he had ever managed.

The buyer, collector Ron Firman, acquired the item as the market for Jordan’s memorabilia continues to mirror the valuation of fine art. David Hunt, president of Hunt Auctions, noted that the sale reinforces Jordan’s status alongside Babe Ruth as a foundational figure in American sports history. Having only changed hands once since its original purchase from the Bulls, the jersey remains a central piece of the "Last Dance" legacy, documenting a career that concluded with Jordan earning MVP honors in the 1998 Finals.
