This initiative marks a significant expansion for the LEGO Ideas platform, which typically hosts single-franchise projects. By allowing creators to combine these two massive intellectual properties, the company aims to tap into the crossover enthusiasm surrounding the upcoming 50th anniversary of the Star Wars franchise in 2027. The move mirrors the spirit of the Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembles comic series, which serves as the first official narrative crossover between the two entities.

Fede Begher, Senior Vice President at the LEGO Group, emphasized that the challenge serves as a milestone for the fan community, offering a new canvas for storytelling. Participants must submit their designs through the official LEGO Ideas portal by selecting one of three themes: vehicles, characters, or scenes. Following the submission period, public voting is scheduled to commence on December 15, 2026, with final grand prize winners to be announced next year.
