Weyerhaeuser and TimberHP Form Partnership to Expand Wood Insulation

Under the terms of the agreement, Weyerhaeuser will manage commercialization for TimberHP’s TimberBatt and TimberBoard lines. The collaboration leverages Weyerhaeuser’s extensive logistics network and established contractor relationships to scale the availability of wood-based insulation, which is manufactured in Madison, Maine, from renewable softwood residuals. While TimberFill remains under its existing distribution structure, the two firms plan to integrate their commercial and technical teams to provide builders with specialized training and architectural support.

Matt O’Malia, CEO of TimberHP, stated that the partnership aims to shift wood fiber insulation into a standard industry offering by combining his company's building science platform with Weyerhaeuser’s historical reach. Neal Shunk, Vice President of Wood Product Sales at Weyerhaeuser, highlighted that the move aligns with the company’s broader strategy to expand its portfolio of sustainable building materials. Beyond immediate distribution, the companies intend to explore joint development of future high-performance wood products, signaling a long-term commitment to low-carbon construction technologies.
