Poppies Mandarins Links Back-to-School Sales to Hunger Relief

The campaign, titled Grown to Share, runs through mid-September. Each scan on a package unlocks a donation equivalent to at least 10 meals for local food banks. This regional effort follows a kickoff event on August 25 at the East Texas Food Bank, where 34 volunteers assembled over 5,700 meal packs for students. In addition to the scan-based donations, Poppies contributed $10,000 directly to support the food bank’s local operations.

Julie Dunmire, Director of Marketing for Kings River Packing, emphasized the simplicity of the program, noting that integrating charitable giving into lunchbox preparation encourages families to view small daily choices as opportunities for community support. Poppies Mandarins, a brand under the family-owned Kings River Packing, aims to leverage this back-to-school window to address immediate nutritional needs in the regions where their products are sold.
