Irfan Mirza Named Chief Financial Officer at Memorial Healthcare System
Following a tenure as interim head of finance, Irfan Mirza has been appointed Chief Financial Officer of Hollywood-based Memorial Healthcare System. The move solidifies leadership at the nonprofit, which currently juggles roughly $1 billion in capital projects alongside a commitment to providing $875 million in annual uncompensated care.
Mirza steps into the permanent role after serving as interim CFO since April 2025. His history with the health system includes a stint as Vice President of Corporate Finance, a period marked by significant organizational expansion. CEO Shane Strum noted that Mirza’s financial strategy has been pivotal in linking clinical performance to the system's ability to reinvest in technology, facilities, and staff.
Prior to his time at Memorial, Mirza built a career in healthcare finance, including several CFO and controller roles at HCA Florida. His background also includes a tenure at Deloitte’s South Florida practice, where he focused on the life sciences and healthcare sectors. Mirza holds a master’s degree in accounting from the Institute for Financial Management in Vienna, Austria, and will now oversee the fiscal health of a system that serves as a major nonprofit provider in the region.
