Tracy Young Named 2026-27 President of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology

With over two decades of clinical and executive experience, Tracy Young has been elected to lead the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology for the 2026-2027 term. Young, a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist and co-founder of Essential Anesthesia Management, will oversee the organization representing more than 69,000 members across the country.

Young’s path to the presidency follows extensive service within the AANA, where he has held national roles including Region 7 director and chair of the Nominating and Governance committees. His professional background centers on scaling clinical operations; he currently manages services for over 130 facilities across five states, overseeing a network of more than 1,400 anesthesia providers.

His advocacy agenda focuses on eliminating barriers to practice and expanding patient access to high-quality care. A member of the association since 1999, Young holds a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia from Texas Wesleyan University and an MBA from George Washington University. He previously served two terms as president of the Louisiana Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, gaining significant experience in government relations and state-level policy work.
