The U.S. Postal Service will suspend all retail services and regular mail delivery on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. Operations across all Post Office locations are scheduled to resume their standard business hours on Tuesday, September 8, following the federal holiday closure.
While physical branches remain shuttered, the organization maintains digital access through usps.com. Customers can manage address changes, hold mail, or purchase shipping supplies online throughout the holiday. Many retail lobbies also provide 24/7 self-service kiosks, which allow users to weigh packages, purchase postage, and print shipping labels for Priority Mail and international shipments.
Recent modernization efforts have expanded these automated capabilities at select sites. Customers can utilize Rapid Dropoff Stations for pre-labeled packages, print shipping labels via merchant-provided QR codes, or interact with USPS Smart Lockers for package retrieval and drop-off. These tools are designed to provide continuity of service regardless of the holiday schedule.
