Lode Gold Begins Metallurgical Drilling at Fremont Mine
Lode Gold Resources has launched a metallurgical drilling program at its flagship Fremont Gold Mine in Mariposa, California, aiming to refine recovery methods and optimize project economics ahead of large-diameter drilling scheduled for this summer.

The program focuses on PQ core sampling to ensure high-quality material mapping for future composites. Engineering teams are tasked with balancing gravity circuit performance against particle size reduction to improve operational efficiency. These efforts are designed to validate historical data, including a 2014 report that indicated a 91% recovery rate. According to Jon Hill, Director and Chair of the Technical Committee, the company is conducting this new study to confirm previous findings and establish robust criteria for future mine development.
Engineers will evaluate various recovery paths, specifically comparing traditional flotation circuits with more modern gravity and coarse-particle sorting configurations. By integrating these assessments before the primary drilling phase, the company seeks to lower capital and operating costs. The Fremont site, a brownfield project with a history dating back to World War II, currently holds an indicated resource of 1.16 million ounces of gold. The upcoming exploration work is intended to refine the processing flowsheets, ultimately strengthening the project’s value proposition for future production.
