Commonplace Debuts Rental Service for High-End Home Gear
For a monthly fee ranging from $40 to $450, consumers can now lease premium items like home gyms, saunas, and golf carts through the Commonplace platform. The service includes professional delivery and installation, targeting households that require specialized equipment for seasonal use or temporary renovations without the burden of full ownership.

The model operates on a month-to-month basis with a one-month minimum commitment, allowing users to return items via a simple text request. For luxury goods valued above $5,000, such as golf carts or professional-grade appliances, the company offers shorter daily or weekly rental options. This flexibility addresses the needs of families managing home repairs or those seeking equipment for specific training blocks or seasonal leisure.
Commonplace leverages its existing logistics network to handle the transport and setup of heavy items. Each piece of equipment undergoes a 30-point inspection before delivery to ensure quality. Beyond renting, the platform allows current owners to list their unused high-value goods for rent, turning idle assets like treadmills or hot tubs into passive income streams while they remain for sale. According to CEO Ari Kimmelfeld, this approach provides access to top-tier brands without the heavy initial capital expenditure typically required for such purchases.
